The International Beethoven Piano Competition Vienna is Austria’s oldest international piano competition and ranks among the most renowned music competitions today. Founded more than 60 years ago, it is hosted by the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Applications for the 17th edition of The Beethoven Vienna were possible until November 1, 2024. More than 300 applications from 32 countries were received. 50 young talents were chosen for the internal Online Video Round. Save The Date: The Grand Finale of the 17th International Beethoven Piano Competition Vienna takes place on 24 May 2025 at the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein. The Wiener Symphoniker and Petr Popelka perform with three finalists.
