Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren, wir hoffen, dass das neue Studienjahr für Sie gut begonnen hat! Auf dem Campus ist die wieder zurückgekehrte Lebendigkeit spürbar und wir haben in diesem Newsletter wieder eine Menge an Neuigkeiten zu aktuellen Projekten, Ausschreibungen und anderen Angeboten für Sie. In diesem Herbst schreibt die Forschungsförderung zum zweiten Mal den Herta und Kurt Blaukopf-Award für herausragende Dissertationen an der mdw aus (Deadline: 7. Jänner 2022). Die Auszeichnung dient der Sichtbarmachung besonderer Leistungen im Rahmen des wissenschaftlichen Doktoratsstudiums an der mdw und der Förderung von Early-Stage Researcher für ihre weitere akademische Laufbahn. Sie ist Herta (geb. Singer) und Kurt Blaukopf als Pionier_innen innovativer, interdisziplinärer und teamorientierter Forschungsmethoden gewidmet. Wir freuen uns auf zahlreiche Bewerbungen! Sehr herzlich gratulieren wir zur Bewilligung von zwei neuen FWF-Einzelprojekten an der mdw: Vasileios Chatziioannou (IWK) für das Projekt The bowed string und Stefan Gasch (IMI) zur Förderung des Projekts Ludwig Senfl: Neue Ausgabe Sämtlicher Werke III. Viel Erfolg! Außerdem freut es uns sehr, dass Stephanie Schroedter vom Institut für Musik- und Bewegungspädagogik/Rhythmik ihr von der DFG gefördertes Projekt Körper und Klänge in Bewegung an die mdw holen konnte. Unsere Gratulationen gehen auch an eine Reihe von Nachwuchswissenschaftler_innen an der mdw: Timur Sijaric (IMI) ist im Studienjahr 2021/22 mit seinem Dissertationsprojekt Filmmusik zur Ideologievermittlung der Wien-Film 1938–1945. Schleier über ihren Augen und Ohren IFK_Junior Fellow und Roman Synakewicz (IMI) erhielt das DOC-Stipendium der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften für sein Dissertationsprojekt Musik.übersetzt | Kulturelle Verhandlungsprozesse in Olga Neuwirths Werken mit US-amerikanischem Bezug. Carola Bebermeier (IMI) wurde in den Vorstand der Society of Global Nineteenth Century Studies (SGNCS) berufen. Wir heißen außerdem Ondřej Daniel von der Karls-Universität in Prag willkommen, der einen durch den OeAD geförderten Forschungsaufenthalt am Institut für Musiksoziologie (IMS) verbringt! Gerne weisen wir auch auf die vielfältigen Angebote der FF in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Zentrum für Weiterbildung und auf den von der Bibliothek angebotenen Workshop zu Open Access am 21.10.2021 hin! Ebenfalls am 21.10.2021, 15-17.15 Uhr ist die Forschungsförderung im Rahmen der Informationsveranstaltung zu Erasmus+ mit Informationen zu internationalen Projekten präsent. Vertiefend dazu findet ein Workshop am 10.11.2021 statt, bei dem auch aktuelle Projekte der mdw vorgestellt werden. Schließlich noch ein Hinweis: Auf der neu gestalteten Website der Forschungsförderung finden Sie seit Kurzem eine umfassende Informationsressource zum Thema Wissenschaftskommunikation mit Services und Angeboten der FF und Informationen zu aktuellen Projekten, Netzwerken und Plattformen. Dear colleagues, We hope that the new academic year has started well for you! We sense the liveliness that has returned to the campus and once more have lots of news for you about current projects, calls for proposals and other offers. This autumn, for the second time, the Research Support is offering the Herta and Kurt Blaukopf Award for outstanding dissertations at the mdw (deadline: 7 January 2022). The award serves to highlight extraordinary achievements in the context of academic doctoral studies at the mdw and to support early-stage researchers in their subsequent academic careers. It is dedicated to Herta (née Singer) and Kurt Blaukopf as pioneers of innovative, interdisciplinary and collaborative research methods. We look forward to receiving plenty of applications! Our warmest congratulations on the approval of two new stand-alone projects at the mdw, both funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF): Vasileios Chatziioannou (IWK) for the project The bowed string and Stefan Gasch (IMI) for the funding of the project Ludwig Senfl: New Edition of Complete Works III. Good luck! We are also delighted that Stephanie Schroedter from the Department of Music and Movement Education/Rhythmics (MRM) was able to bring her DFG-funded project Body and Sounds in Movement to the mdw. Our congratulations also go to several early-stage researchers at the mdw: Timur Sijaric (IMI), an IFK_Junior Fellow in the academic year 2021/22 with his dissertation project Film music for the mediation of ideology of the Vienna Film 1938-1945: Veils over their eyes and ears, Roman Synakewicz (IMI), who received the DOC scholarship of the Austrian Academy of Sciences for his dissertation project Musik.übersetzt | Kulturelle Verhandlungsprozesse in Olga Neuwirths Werke mit US-amerikanischem Bezug, and Carola Bebermeier (IMI), who has been appointed to the board of the "Society of Global Nineteenth-Century Studies" (SGNCS). We also welcome Ondřej Daniel from Charles University in Prague, who is spending an OeAD-funded research stay at the Institute for the Sociology of Music (IMS)! We would also like to draw your attention once again to the range of opportunities on offer from the Research Support in cooperation with the Centre for Further Education, as well as to the workshop on Open Access offered by the library on 21.10.2021! The Research Support unit will also be present at the Erasmus+ information event on 21.10.2021, 15-17.15 p.m.. In addition, a more in-depth workshop will take place on 10.11.2021, where you'll be able to learn about current projects at the mdw. Finally: on the newly designed Research Support website, you will now find a comprehensive information resource on the topic of science communication with our services and offers as well as information on current projects, networks and platforms.
