Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren, im Zeichen der aktuell so notwendigen Solidarität mit der ukrainischen Bevölkerung angesichts des Krieges Russlands gegen die Ukraine wurden auch im Bereich der Forschung eine Reihe von Stellungnahmen veröffentlicht, z.B. durch den FWF, EUA, ERC etc., und Initiativen gesetzt: So hat die Österreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften ein neues Angebot für Forschungsaufenthalte ukrainischer Kolleg*innen in Österreich publiziert. Wir unterstützen Sie bei der Antragstellung. Unsere herzliche Gratulation gilt Rosa Reitsamer (Institut für Musiksoziologie) zur Verleihung des Gabriele Possanner Staatspreises 2022. Seit 1997 wird der Preis alle zwei Jahre für besondere wissenschaftliche Leistungen im Bereich der Geschlechterforschung in Österreich vergeben und wir freuen uns sehr über diese Auszeichnung für eine Wissenschafterin der mdw. Wir freuen uns auch mit Julia Fent und Irene Stepniczka (Institut für Musiktherapie) über die Zuerkennung der PPIE Projektförderung der Ludwig Boltzmann-Gesellschaft für das Projekt "My Tune: Musiktherapie aus unserer Perspektive". Außerdem dürfen wir auf folgende Fördermöglichkeiten verweisen: Im Bereich der künstlerischen Forschung möchten wir Sie noch einmal auf den Artistic Research Pilot-Call der mdw (Deadline 28.3.2022) und die Möglichkeit der Einreichung von künstlerischen Forschungsprojekten im Rahmen von PEEK (Deadline: 8.6.2022) aufmerksam machen. Ganz aktuell erschienen sind der Bericht zur Evaluierung des PEEK-Programms und die Stellungnahme des FWF dazu. Im Rahmen des neu ausgeschriebenen Gender|Queer|Diversität-Calls der mdw können bis zum 20. Mai 2022 auch Projekte mit wissenschaftlicher Ausrichtung oder für Projekte, die als Grundlage für die Beantragung eines internationalen Forschungsprojekt dienen, eingereicht werden. Erinnern möchten wir Sie außerdem an den laufenden Call zur kommenden isaScience von 31.8. bis 4.9. in Reichenau an der Rax: Un/Learning: Norms and Routines in Cultural Practice (Deadline 31.3.2022). Dear colleagues, Given the present and immediate need for solidarity with the Ukrainian people in the face of Russian invasion, we have seen a number of statements issued within the research community, including by the FWF, the EUA, and the ERC, as well as the launch of new initiatives, such as the Austrian Academy of Sciences’ emergency call for Ukrainian colleagues to apply for research stays in Austria. Should you consider applying for the call, please be assured of our full support for your application. In more pleasant news, we would like to extend our sincere congratulations to Rosa Reitsamer (Department of Music Sociology) on receiving the Gabriele Possanner State Award 2022. Since its launch in 1997, the prize has been awarded for special achievements in the field of gender research in Austria, and we are delighted that this year’s award has been conferred to a researcher from the mdw. We are also delighted for Julia Fent and Irene Stepniczka (Department for Music Therapy) for their success in being awarded the PPIE project funding of the Ludwig Boltzmann Society for the project "My Tune: Music Therapy from our Perspectives". Looking ahead, we would like to remind you of the following funding opportunities: As announced in the last issue, the mdw's internal Publication Fund Early Stage Researchers has been published (deadline: 29.4.2022). We look forward to your submissions! In the area of artistic research, we would like to draw your attention to the mdw's Artistic Research Pilot Call (deadline: 28.3.2022) and the possibility of submitting artistic research projects within the framework of PEEK (deadline: 8.6.2022). The report on the evaluation of the PEEK programme and the FWF's statement on it have very recently been published. Within the framework of the newly announced Gender|Queer|Diversity Call of the mdw, projects with a scientific orientation, or those that serve as the basis for an application for an international research project, can be submitted by 20 May 2022.
