Summer time is travel time

We start the summer break with sdp-news

For the moment, travelling and international mobility are possible again and this allows the doctoral students of the sdp to conduct research in the field and network with other scholars in person.

Juan Escobar Campos travelled to Mexico, where he participated in the Latin American and Caribbean Conference on Social Sciences, organized by the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO) and the Doctoral Symposium held at the 16th International Conference on Arts and Cultural Management (AIMAC). He presented parts of his dissertation and received valuable feedback. Isabel Frey was conducting field research at the Yiddish Summer Weimar and in August she will take part in the Yiddish summer course in Berlin.

Angelica Pinna travelled to Budapest for the participation at the CEU summer school on Music and Intangible Heritage, where she will be developing ideas on how to foster the presentation of both tangible and intangible musical heritage in her thesis. Afterwards she is heading to Le Mans for an international summer school promoting a multidisciplinary approach between humanities and sciences in the field of music.

Sophie Zehetmayer will join the 8th Conference of the Royal Musical Association Music & Philosophy Study Group at the Department of Music, King’s College, taking place in London from 7th-8th of July.
