With the winter holidays ahead of us, some of you might be planning the upcoming year and will find the following fellowships of interest.

☞ IFK Junior Fellowship

The IFK Junior Fellowships are intended for doctoral candidates with Austrian citizenship and non-Austrian doctoral candidates supervised at Austrian universities. The dissertation project must be an interdisciplinary undertaking in the humanities, social sciences or art that addresses the study of culture, its issues and methods. IFK Junior Fellows receive a monthly stipend of € 1.650 plus a monthly rent allowance of max. € 350 for one year.

Applications are possible until January 30th 2023.

☞ PhD scholarship Anton Bruckner Private University

The Anton Bruckner Private University is offering on the occasion of the bicentenary of Anton Bruckner's birth three Bruckner scholarships in the fields of academic and artistic-scientific doctoral studies in 2024. The funded academic doctoral projects must research "Anton Bruckner", "The Work of Anton Bruckner", "Anton Bruckner's Influences and/or Aftermath" either from a musicological, cultural studies, music-historical, or from a pedagogical perspective.

Application open until February 17th 2023.

☞ Outgoing programme

The Marietta Blau Grant offers financial support for for PhD students enrolled at an Austrian accredited university wishing to spend a study or research period abroad. This grant funds six- to twelve-month stays abroad for highly qualified doctoral or PhD students at Austrian universities. It serves to optimise the content of dissertations through research abroad. Early-stage researchers are the main target group.

Deadline: February 1st 2023

☞ Seed Money Initiative for Postdocs

Advancing Music and Minorities Research (AMMR) is a “seed money” initiative by the Music and Minorities Research Center (MMRC) at mdw. It provides financial support and expert advice to postdoctoral researchers from all around the world who intend to develop their cutting-edge project ideas in the field of music and minorities studies into competitive funding applications for mid- to large-scale research projects.
