Liebe Kolleg_innen, wir freuen uns, Ihnen mitteilen zu können, dass die mdw im Jänner 2023 mit dem 'HR Excellence in Research Award' ausgezeichnet wurde. Seit 2020 nimmt die Universität an der internationalen Auditierung des Personalmanagements teil, um ihren Angehörigen im Bereich Forschung/Wissenschaft und EEK ein attraktives Arbeitsumfeld und gute Möglichkeiten der Karrieregestaltung zu bieten. Des Weiteren freuen wir uns, dass die mdw an drei bewilligten Projekten im Rahmen der Ausschreibung des BMBWF „(Digitale) Forschungsinfrastrukturen“ beteiligt ist: „Shared RDM Services & Infrastructure“ unter der Leitung der TU Graz, „Austrian Research Information & Service Network (ARI&Sent)“ unter der Leitung der TU Wien sowie am Projekt der Universität für angewandte Kunst ÆSR Lab – Applied/Experimental Sound Research Laboratory. Letzteres wird an der mdw von Thomas Grill geleitet und in Kooperation mit dem Phonogrammarchiv der ÖAW – Österreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften umgesetzt. Wir gratulieren! Beim FWF treten ab dem 20. März 2023 Neuerungen in der Verwaltung von Einzelprojekten in Kraft, sodass die Projekte nicht wie bisher im Ad-personam-Format, sondern über die Forschungsstätte abgewickelt werden. Für Forschende entfällt somit künftig die händische Einreichung eines Deckblatts. Weitere Infos finden Sie auf der Webseite des FWF. Das Projektservice der Forschungsförderung steht gerne für Rückfragen zur Verfügung. Weiters möchten wir Sie auf unterschiedliche Angebote des Zentrums für Citizen Science des OeAD aufmerksam machen: Ausgehend von aktuellen Forschungsprojekten können Forschende selbst Themenanregungen für VWA und Diplomarbeiten geben sowie passende Einstiegsliteratur und weiterführende Links bereitstellen. Unter dem Schlagwort #YoungScienceRocks können Forschende außerdem (Unterrichts-)Materialien, Podcasts, Spiele, Lesetipps usw. für Lehrpersonen und Schüler_innen anbieten, ebenso wie Besuche in Schulen bzw. an der eigenen Institution, um die Forschung vorzustellen. Bei Interesse beraten wir gerne! Erinnern möchten wir an den laufenden Call for Papers der isaScience2023 zum Thema Sonic Ties: Rethinking Communities and Collectives. Einreichungen sind bis zum 5. März 2023 möglich. Aufgrund einer technischen Umstellung laden wir Sie ein, sich für den neuen Newsletter der isaScience anzumelden, um weiterhin alle Neuigkeiten zu erhalten. Auch die Bewerbungsfrist für das erstmals ausgeschriebene mdw PostDoc Fellowship läuft noch bis zum 3. März 2023. Die Klausur der Wissenschaften wird Anfang 2024 wieder stattfinden; bis dahin können Sie sich aber jederzeit gerne mit Anregungen und Feedback an uns wenden.

Dear colleagues, We are pleased to inform you that mdw was awarded the 'HR Excellence in Research Award' in January 2023. Since 2020, the university has participated in the international auditing of human resources management in order to offer its members in the fields of research/science and EEK an attractive working environment and better opportunities for career development. Furthermore, we are pleased that mdw is involved in three approved projects within the framework of the BMBWF's call "(Digital) Research Infrastructures": "Shared RDM Services & Infrastructure" led by TU Graz, "Austrian Research Information & Service Network (ARI&Sent)" led by TU Vienna as well as the project of the University of Applied Arts ÆSR Lab - Applied/Experimental Sound Research Laboratory. The latter is headed by Thomas Grill at the mdw and implemented in cooperation with the Phonogrammarchiv of the ÖAW - Austrian Academy of Sciences. Congratulations! From 20 March 2023, changes in the administration of individual projects will come into effect at the FWF, so that projects will no longer be handled in ad-personam format as before, but via the research institution. Consequently, researchers will no longer have to submit a cover sheet by hand in the future. Further information can be found on the FWF website. The research support’s project service is happy to answer any questions you may have. Moreover, we would like to draw your attention to various opportunities of the Centre for Citizen Science of the OeAD: Based on current research projects, researchers themselves can provide topic suggestions for VWAs and theses as well as suitable introductory literature and further links. Under the keyword #YoungScienceRocks, researchers can also offer (teaching) materials, podcasts, games, reading tips, etc. for teachers and students, as well as visits to schools or their own institutions to present their research. If you are interested, we are happy to advise! We would like to remind you of the ongoing isaScience2023 call for papers on the topic Sonic Ties: Rethinking Communities and Collectives. Submissions are open until 5 March 2023. Due to a technical change, we invite you to sign up for the new isaScience newsletter to continue receiving all news. The application period for the first-ever mdw PostDoc Fellowship is also open until 3 March 2023.
