While some of us are all impatiently waiting for the springtime to arrive, we would like to draw your attention to a selection of upcoming events and deadlines for pre- and postdocs at the mdw.

☞ PostDoc Fellowship mdw

The PostDoc Fellowship is a part-time fellowship funded by the Research Support Unit at mdw. Eligible to apply are all postdocs within the first 4 years after completion of their doctorate studies without habilitation, either with a degree from the mdw and/or a contractual relationship with the mdw in the last two years prior to application. Application open until March 3rd 2023.

☞ Scholarships for research stays in France

The Institut français d'Autriche and the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs announce merit scholarships for short scientific research stays (1-6 months) and doctoral studies (especially in the context of a cotutelle or codirection) in France.

These are addressed to PhD students, postdocs, and ambitious young researchers who have written their dissertation within the last 5 years and are enrolled in an Austrian or/and French research institution (university, research institute or similar). This mobility should enable young researchers to deepen their research activities in France and to establish new collaborations. Deadline for application is March 19th 2023.

☞ IFK Summer Academy "Die große Transformation"

The IFK_Academy is aimed at young academics and artists who have a central interest in cultural studies. Austrian applicants or those working at Austrian academic institutions are particularly encouraged to apply. The scholarship includes accommodation in a single room, meals (excl. drinks) and provision of working documents. Travel to the academy location (Jägermayerhof) in Upper Austria must be covered by the applicant. Application open until March 26th 2023.

☞ Doctoral Session 02

The Doctoral Session, "Dissertant_innenkolleg", serves the academic discourse within the circle of mdw's doctoral candidates. The two sessions 01 and 02 take place in the form of a joint public event. The participants have the opportunity to give a public presentation on the progress of their dissertation projects. Doctoral students can apply within the admission period for the summer semester 2023 via mdw-Online under the current course numbers.

Please send your CV with a photo and a short text describing your dissertation project (approx. 1000 characters) to stdw@mdw.ac.at for publication on our website. The Office of the Dean of Research Studies invites PhD students to set up a profile to enhance visibility. Some colleagues are already online, find out more about them here.
