Liebe Kolleg_innen, Wir freuen uns über Erfolge mehrerer mdw-Forschender: Das Projekt „AUDIO GHOSTS: Perzeptive Illusionen in der Klangkunst“ unter der Leitung von Bernhard Gál wird im Rahmen des PEEK-Programms des FWF gefördert. Yucong Jiang konnte im Rahmen des EU-Programms Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actionsder die Förderung ihres Projektes „Performance Precision Annotator (PPA): AI-Assisted Annotation and Analysis of Music Performance“ am Institut für musikalische Akustik – Wiener Klangstil (IWK) einwerben. Die ERASMUS+ Teacher Education Academy for Music (TEAM) unter der Konsortialführung der Universität Potsdam unter Beteiligung von Wilfried Aigner (Institut für musikpädagogische Forschung, Musikdidaktik und Elementares Musizieren – IMP) darf sich ebenfalls über eine Förderzusage freuen. Die soeben in Open Access erschienene Publikation „YouTube and Music. Online Culture and Everyday Life“ (Bloomsbury Academic, 2023), an der Juri Giannini (Institut für Musikwissenschaft und Interpretationsforschung – IMI) mitgewirkt hat, wurde mit dem Knowledge Unlatched Award 2022 ausgezeichnet. Herzliche Gratulation! Das Sommersemester ist an der mdw in vollem Gang: Bereits diese Woche findet das nächste mdwForum Forschungsdaten am 22.3.2023, 10:00–11:30 Uhr online statt. Die Anmeldung erfolgt per E-Mail: forschungsfoerderung@mdw.ac.at und wir freuen uns über eine rege Teilnahme. Zum sechsten Mal schreibt die mdw 2023 eine interne Publikationsförderung für Nachwuchswissenschaftler*innen aus. Eingereicht werden können Publikationsvorhaben (Buchprojekte oder Artikel in Fachzeitschriften), die nicht aus anderen Mitteln finanziert werden können. Wir freuen uns auf Ihre Einreichungen bis zum 28. April 2023 und stehen für Fragen gerne zur Verfügung. Die ub.mdw – Universitätsbibliothek bietet dieses Semester Walk-in-Termine zum Thema Open Access an, die ohne Terminvereinbarung besucht werden können: 18.4.2023, 9.5.2023 und 20.6.2023 jeweils 14–15 Uhr im Gruppenraum 1 der ub.mdw. Zudem hat die mdw ein Open-Access-Verlagsabkommen (read-and-publish) für das Humanities and Social Sciences Paket von Sage Publishing abgeschlossen, siehe Liste der Zeitschriften. Das Webinar Bridging the Gap mit Aleksandra Bajde beschäftigt sich mit dem Potenzial künstlerischer Methoden in interdisziplinären Projekten (Fokus auf Natur- und Technikwissenschaften): 3. Mai 2023, 10–13 Uhr. Save the date! Das Symposium Transkulturalität_mdw 2023 unter dem Titel "Music and Racism" findet heuer in hybrider Form statt: 5.–6. Mai 2023. Im Rahmen der Arbeitstagung Ver_Üben leiten Julia Fent und Mira Riebau den Workshop: Diskriminierung erforschen - diskriminierungskritisch forschen: Impulse & Diskussion am 11.5.2023, 15.30–17.00 Uhr, im Fanny-Hensel-Saal. Dear colleagues, We are pleased to announce the success of several mdw researchers: The project "AUDIO GHOSTS: Perceptive Illusions in Sound Art" led by Bernhard Gál is funded by the FWF PEEK program. Yucong Jiang was successful in obtaining funding under the EU Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actionsder program for her project "Performance Precision Annotator (PPA): AI-Assisted Annotation and Analysis of Music Performance" at the Institute of Musical Acoustics - Vienna Sound Style (IWK). The Teacher Education Academy for Music (TEAM) under the consortium leadership of the University of Potsdam with the participation of Wilfried Aigner (Institute for Music Pedagogical Research, Music Didactics and Elementary Music Making - IMP) will be funded by ERASMUS+. The recently published Open Access publication "YouTube and Music. Online Culture and Everyday Life" (Bloomsbury Academic, 2023), to which Juri Giannini (Institute for Musicology and Interpretation Research - IMI) contributed, has been awarded the Knowledge Unlatched Award 2022. Congratulations! The summer term at mdw is in full swing: The next mdwForum Research Data takes place this week on 22.3.2023, 10:00–11:30 am online. Registration via email: forschungsfoerderung@mdw.ac.at. We look forward to lively participation. For the sixth time, the mdw 2023 announces an mdw Publication Fund for Early Stage Researchers. Publication projects (book projects or articles in professional journals) that cannot be financed by third-party funds can be submitted. We look forward to receiving your submissions by April 28, 2023 and are happy to help if any questions should arise. The ub.mdw - University Library is offering walk-in appointments on Open Access this semester, which can be attended without an appointment: 18.4.2023, 9.5.2023 and 20.6.2023, each 2–3 pm in Group Room 1 of the ub.mdw. Additionally, mdw has entered into an open access publishing agreement (read-and-publish) for Sage Publishing's Humanities and Social Sciences package. See list of journals.
