Liebe Kolleg_innen, zunächst möchten wir Sie auf mehrere Ausschreibungen aufmerksam machen, auf die sich Interessierte noch bis Ende April bewerben können. Auf Initiative des Instituts für musikpädagogische Forschung, Musikdidaktik und Elementares Musizieren (IMP) wird die mdw heuer zum ersten Mal den mdw young research award für hervorragende vorwissenschaftliche Arbeiten und Diplomarbeiten verleihen, die im Rahmen der Matura verfasst wurden und Bezüge zu Forschungsdisziplinen der mdw haben. Die Einreichung ist noch bis zum 30. April möglich und wir freuen uns, wenn Sie Ihren Bekannten- und Freundskreis auf den Wissenschaftspreis aufmerksam machen. Bereits zum sechsten Mal schreibt die mdw eine interne Publikationsförderung für Nachwuchswissenschaftler*innen aus. Eingereicht werden können Publikationsvorhaben (Buchprojekte oder Artikel in Fachzeitschriften), die nicht aus anderen Mitteln finanziert werden können. Wir freuen uns auf Ihre Einreichungen bis zum 28. April und stehen für Fragen gerne zur Verfügung. Der Wissenschaftsfonds FWF sucht Mitglieder des FWF-Kuratoriums für die Funktionsperiode 2023–2026. Die Ausschreibung läuft noch bis zum 4. Juni, bei Interesse freuen wir uns auf Kontaktaufnahme unter forschungsfoerderung@mdw.ac.at. Die europäische Kommission hat einen Aufruf für Expert_innen zur Sicherung des kulturellen Erbes in der Ukraine veröffentlicht. Eine Bewerbung ist noch bis zum 25. April möglich. Außerdem freuen wir uns auf folgende Veranstaltungen an der mdw in den kommenden Monaten und laden Sie hierzu herzlich ein: Am 21. April findet das Symposium „Musik auf Station“ zum internationalen Forschungsprojekt „Professional Excellence in Meaningful Healthcare (ProMiMiC)“ im Fanny-Hensel-Saal statt. Wie bereits angekündigt, findet am 3. Mai das Webinar „Bridging the Gap. From STEM to STEAM" statt, das sich mit dem Potenzial künstlerischer Methoden in interdisziplinären Projekten (Fokus auf Naturwissenschaften und Technik) beschäftigt. Anmeldung bis zum 27.4.2023. Am 5. und 6. Mai beleuchtet das Symposium „Transkulturalität“ des Instituts für Volksmusikforschung und Ethnomusikologie (IVE) das Thema „Music & Racism" aus vielfältigen Perspektiven von Forschenden und Kunstschaffenden mit Präsentationen, Panel-Diskussion, künstlerischer Performance und Filmvorführung. Am 15. und 16. Juni laden Axel Petri-Preis und Sarah Chaker zur Konferenz „Turning Social. Zum sozial-transformativen Potential von Musikvermittlung" in den Fanny Hensel-Saal und zur Teilnahme über Live-Stream (Zoom) ein. Schließlich möchten wir Sie an die Open-Access-Publikationsmöglichkeiten an der mdw erinnern und darauf aufmerksam machen, dass Ihnen unser Kollege Max Bergmann von der Bibliothek zu neu eingerichteten Sprechstunden gerne zur Verfügung steht, wenn Sie mehr darüber erfahren möchten. Dear colleagues, First of all, we would like to draw your attention to several announcements for which interested researchers can apply until the end of April. On the initiative of the Department of Music Education Research, Music Didactics and Elementary Music Education (IMP), for the first time this year the mdw will present the mdw young research award for outstanding pre-scientific theses and diploma theses written in the context of the Matura and related to research disciplines at the mdw. Submissions are open until April 30 and we would appreciate it if you could make acquaintances and friends aware of this research award. For the sixth time now, mdw has announced an internal publication fund for early-stage researchers. You can submit publication projects (book projects or articles in scientific journals) that cannot be financed by third-party funds. We look forward to receiving your submissions by April 28 and are happy to answer any questions. The Austrian Science Fund FWF is looking for members of the FWF Board for the functional period 2023-2026. The call for applications is open until June 4 if you are interested, we look forward to get in contact with you via forschungsfoerderung@mdw.ac.at. The European Commission has published a call for experts to safeguard cultural heritage in Ukraine. Applications are still possible until April 25. Furthermore, we are looking forward to the following events of mdw-affiliated researchers in the coming months and cordially invite you to participate: On April 21, the symposium "Music in the Ward" of the international research project Professional Excellence in Meaningful Healthcare (ProMiMiC) will take place in the Fanny Hensel Hall. As previously announced, on May 3 the webinar "Bridging the Gap. From STEM to STEAM" with Aleksandra Bajde will reflect on the potential of artistic methods in interdisciplinary projects (focus on natural and technical sciences). Registration until 27.4.2023. On May 5 and 6, the symposium "transculturality" of the Department of Folk Music Research and Ethnomusicology will focus on the topic "Music and Racism" manifold presentations, a panel discussion, artistic performance and film. On June 15 and 16, Axel Petri-Preis and Sarah Chaker invite you to the conference "Turning Social. On the Social-Transformative Potential of Music Education" in the Fanny Hensel Hall and to participate via live stream (Zoom). Finally, if you would like to learn more about open access publishing opportunities at mdw and beyond, our colleague Max Bergmann from the library will be happy to help you during newly established office hours (no registration required).
