Liebe Kolleg_innen, Wir freuen uns, erstmals zwei PostDoc Fellows an mdw willkommen heißen zu dürfen: Dr. Raz Weiner (IKM) und Dr. Henrike Rost (IMI) erarbeiten Projektanträge im Rahmen des neu eingerichteten PostDoc Fellowships, einer Maßnahme der Forschungsstrategie zur Förderung von Early-Stage Researchern. Herzlich gratulieren wir Marie Louise Herzfeld-Schild, seit Oktober 2022 Professorin für Musikologie am Institut für Musikwissenschaft und Interpretationsforschung und Leiterin des ERC-Projektes "GOING VIRAL. Music and Emotions during Pandemics (1679-1919)". Sie wurde im März 2023 als neues Mitglied der Österreichischen Jungen Akademie der Wissenschaften gewählt. Eigenbewerbungen für zwei vom BMBWF ausgelobte Gabriele-Possanner-Förderungspreise sind bis 14. Juli möglich! Jeweils mit 12.000,- € dotiert, werden sie für wissenschaftliche Arbeiten im Bereich der Geschlechterforschung vergeben. Eingereicht werden können Dissertationen, Masterarbeiten oder Forschungsarbeiten (Studien), die ab 1.1.2021 abgeschlossen wurden. Die zweitägige, transdisziplinäre Summer School „Future-Proof Research Skills. Interdisciplinary PhD-Summer Training” der JKU Linz fördert am 21.-22. August den Austausch über Forschungsbereiche und institutionelle Grenzen hinaus. Drei Workshops widmen sich dem Schreiben, Sprechen und Forschen. Die Forschungsförderung übernimmt die Reise- und Aufenthaltskosten für eine_n mdw-Angehörige_n. Bei Interesse bitte um Kontaktaufnahme unter forschungsfoerderung@mdw.ac.at. Die European Researchers' Night findet heuer am 29. September an der Universität für Angewandte Kunst statt. Wissenschaftler_innen der mdw, die gerne ihre Forschung präsentieren möchten, sind eingeladen, sich bei bei uns per E-Mail zu melden. Am 6. Juni, 14-16 Uhr, werden unter dem Titel "Künstliche Intelligenz - Chat GPT & Co an der mdw?!" im Lesesaal der UB Chancen und Risiken von KI präsentiert und in einer Podiumsdiskussion diskutiert. Dear colleagues, We are pleased to welcome two PostDoc Fellows at mdw for the first time: Dr. Raz Weiner (IKM) and Dr. Henrike Rost (IMI) are preparing project proposals within the framework of the newly established PostDoc Fellowship, a measure of the research strategy to support early-stage researchers. Our warmest congratulations to Marie Louise Herzfeld-Schild, since October 2022 Professor of Musicology at the Department for Musicology and Performance Studies and head of the ERC project "GOING VIRAL. Music and Emotions during Pandemics (1679-1919)". She was elected as a new member of the Austrian Young Academy of Sciences in March 2023. Applications for two Gabriele-Possanner-Förderungspreise offered by the BMBWF are open until July 14! Each endowed with € 12,000, they are awarded for scientific work in the field of gender studies. Dissertations, master’s theses or research papers (studies) completed as of 1.1.2021 can be submitted. The two-day, transdisciplinary Summer School "Future-Proof Research Skills. Interdisciplinary PhD-Summer Training" at JKU Linz on August 21-22 promotes exchange across research fields and institutional boundaries. Three workshops are dedicated to writing, speaking and research. The research funding will cover the travel and accommodation costs for one mdw member. If you are interested, please contact forschungsfoerderung@mdw.ac.at. This year’s European Researchers' Night will take place on September 29 at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Researchers of the mdw who would like to present their research are invited to contact us via email. On June 6, 2-4 pm, under the title "Artificial Intelligence - Chat GPT & Co at mdw?!" opportunities and risks of AI will be presented and discussed in a panel discussion in the University Library.
