Liebe Kolleg_innen, zunächst möchten wir Sie über personelle Neuigkeiten in der Forschungsförderung informieren: Therese Kaufmann ist nach ihrem Sabbatical zurück in ihrer Funktion als Leiterin der Forschungsförderung. Unsere sehr geschätzte Kollegin Valerie Gföhler verlässt die Abteilung zum Ende dieses Monats, wir wünschen ihr alles Gute! Herzlichen Glückwunsch an Sarah Chaker vom Institut für Musiksoziologie, die mit dem Ars Docendi Staatspreis für exzellente Lehre des Bundesministeriums für Bildung, Wissenschaft und Forschung ausgezeichnet wurde und den Hauptpreis in der Kategorie forschungsbezogene bzw. kunstgeleitete Lehre gewonnen hat. Weiters dürfen wir Frau Dr.in Yucong Jiang an der mdw willkommen heißen, die bis Ende Juli 2024 ihr durch EU MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships gefördertes Forschungsprojekt „Performance Precision Annotator: AI-Assisted Annotation and Analysis of Music Performance“ am Institut für musikalische Akustik – Wiener Klangstil (IWK) unter der Supervision von Dr. Werner Goebl und Dr. David Weigl durchführen wird. Außerdem möchten wir Sie auf folgende Veranstaltungen aufmerksam machen: Am Mittwoch, den 27. September, wird um 17 Uhr im Konzertsaal des Future Art Lab erstmals der mdw young research award von Rektorin Ulrike Sych verleihen. Der Preis zeichnet herausragende vorwissenschaftliche Arbeiten (VWA) und Diplomarbeiten von Maturant_innen in Österreich zu Musik und darstellender Kunst aus. Wir freuen uns auf Ihr Kommen! Die STEAM TRANSFER Konferenz, 28. und 29. September im Semperdepot der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien, ist dem Dialog zwischen MINT-Disziplinen und den Künsten gewidmet sowie deren Potenzial für eine nachhaltige gesellschaftliche, ökologische und digitale Transformation. Anmeldung über die Webseite des WTZ Ost. Am 11. Oktober findet von 10 bis 12 Uhr das nächste mdwForum Forschungsdaten statt. Dear Colleagues, First of all, we would like to inform you about personnel news in the Research Support: Therese Kaufmann is back in her role as head of the department after her sabbatical. Our much-appreciated colleague Valerie Gföhler is leaving the department at the end of this month, we wish her all the best! Congratulations to Sarah Chaker from the Department of Music Sociology, who was awarded the Ars Docendi State Prize for Excellent Teaching by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research and won the main prize in the category of research-related or arts-based teaching. We would also like to welcome Dr. Yucong Jiang at the mdw, who will pursue her research project "Performance Precision Annotator: AI-Assisted Annotation and Analysis of Music Performance" at the Department of Music Acoustics – Wiener Klangstil (IWK) under the supervision of Dr. Werner Goebl and Dr. David Weigl, funded by EU MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships until the end of July 2024. Furthermore, we would like to draw your attention to the following events: This Wednesday, September 27, the mdw young research award will be presented for the first time by rector Ulrike Sych at 5 pm in the concert hall of the Future Art Lab. The prize is awarded for outstanding pre-scientific work (VWA) and diploma theses on music and performing arts by high school graduates in Austria. We look forward to seeing you there! The STEAM TRANSFER conference, September 28 and 29 at the Semperdepot of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, is dedicated to the dialogue between STEM disciplines and the arts and their potential for sustainable social, ecological and digital transformation.
