Dear colleagues and friends of isaScience,

As the year 2023 draws to a close, we're looking back on not only this year's conference but a decade of isaScience that instigated productive exchange and discussions, as well as international working relations and friendships. This year's edition titled "Sonic Ties: Rethinking Communities and Collectives" reflected on this decade and opened perspectives into a multitude of local contexts and fields of research. The four keynote lectures as well as other select presentations are permanently available for watching in the mdwRepository, as is this year's Book of Abstracts.

Together with isa, the International Summer Academy, isaScience will be taking a break in 2024 and return with full steam in 2025 – on campus of the mdw, in the heart of Vienna.

While we will be working on updating isaScience for its next decade, mdw - University for Music and Performing Arts will be testing out a new format for early-stage researchers: a three-day research-based spring school focused on music and performing arts studies within the framework of the university-wide project KlangbildKlang.
