wir freuen uns, ein ereignisreiches und erfolgreiches Jahr in der Forschungsförderung mit einigen Gratulationen abschließen zu können: Die mdw hat im Jahr 2023 eine 100%-ige Erfolgsquote bei PEEK erreicht! Im Programm zur Entwicklung und Erschließung der Künste (PEEK) bewilligte der FWF zuletzt alle drei eingereichten Projektanträge der mdw:
Wir wünschen viel Erfolg bei der Umsetzung dieser innovativen interdisziplinären Projekte! Weiters gratulieren wir dem Exilarte Zentrum zur Förderung von Film-, Ausstellungs- und Veranstaltungsprojekten durch den Nationalfonds der Republik Österreich! Außerdem beglückwünschen wir Barbara Wolfram, die vom Bundesministerium für Bildung, Wissenschaft und Forschung für ihre Dissertation „Moving The Needle. Darstellung und Repräsentation von Gender und Diversität im österreichischen Spielfilm der Jahre 1997 bis 2017“ mit dem Award of Excellence 2022/23 ausgezeichnet wurde. Dieses Jahr blicken wir auch auf das zehnjährige Bestehen der isaScience zurück. Die diesjährige Ausgabe mit dem Titel „Sonic Ties: Rethinking Communities and Collectives“ bot wieder ein anregendes internationales Forum für wissenschaftlichen Austausch und reflektierte die Dekade. Die vier Keynote-Vorträge sowie weitere ausgewählte Präsentationen sind nun im mdwRepository abrufbar, ebenso wie das diesjährige Book of Abstracts. Haben Sie Interesse, sich als Wissenschaftsbotschafter_in zu engagieren, an Schulen über Ihre Forschung zu sprechen oder in Hinblick auf vorwissenschaftliche Arbeiten zu unterstützen? Wir laden Sie herzlich zu einer Infoveranstaltung und einem Austausch am 22.1.2024, 14:30-16:00 Uhr, in den Sitzungssaal des Senats ein! Anmeldung an: forschungsfoerderung@mdw.ac.at Im Bereich der Publikationsförderung möchten wir Sie darüber informieren, dass die FWF Open Access-Förderung für begutachtete Zeitschriftenartikel u.Ä., die aus FWF-geförderten Projekten hervorgehen, umgestellt wird. Ab dem 1.1.2024 wird diese Förderung nicht mehr vom FWF vergeben, sondern in Form einer Open Access Pauschale (OAP) von den jeweiligen Forschungsstätten verwaltet. Nähere Informationen zum Ablauf an der mdw finden Sie auf der Webseite der Forschungsförderung. Schließlich möchten wir Early Stage Researcher, die seit 2022 an der mdw ihre Dissertation mit Auszeichnung abgeschlossen haben, an die aktuelle Ausschreibung des Herta & Kurt Blaukopf-Awards erinnern. Die Deadline zur Bewerbung wurde verlängert und ist noch bis zum 19.1.2024 möglich. Wir freuen uns auf Ihre Bewerbungen und stehen Ihnen bei Fragen gerne zur Verfügung. We are pleased to conclude an eventful and successful year in the Research Support with some congratulations: The mdw has a 100% success rate for PEEK in 2023! In the Programme for the Development and Exploitation of the Arts (PEEK), the FWF recently approved all three project applications submitted by the mdw:
We wish them every success in pursuing these innovative interdisciplinary projects! Furthermore, we congratulate the Exilarte Center on the funding of film, exhibition and event projects by the National Fund of the Republic of Austria! Finally, we would like to extend our congratulations to Barbara Wolfram, who has been recognised by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research for her dissertation “Moving The Needle. Depiction and Representation of Gender and Diversity in Austrian Feature Films from 1997 to 2017” with the Award of Excellence 2022/23. This year we also look back on the tenth anniversary of isaScience. This year's edition, entitled "Sonic Ties: Rethinking Communities and Collectives", once again offered a stimulating, international academic forum and reflected on the decade. The four keynote speeches and other selected presentations are now available in the mdwRepository, as is this year's Book of Abstracts. Are you interested in getting involved as a research ambassador, speaking at schools about your research or providing support for pre-science work? Registration to: forschungsfoerderung@mdw.ac.at Regarding publication funding, we would like to inform you that the FWF Open Access funding for peer-reviewed journal articles etc. resulting from FWF-funded projects will be changed. From 1 January 2024, this funding will no longer be awarded by the FWF, but the so-called Open Access Pauschale (OAP) will be administered by the respective research institutions. Further information on the procedure at the mdw can be found on Research Support website. Finally, we would like to remind Early Stage Researchers who have completed their dissertation with honours at the mdw since 2022 of the current call for entries for the Herta & Kurt Blaukopf Award. The deadline for applications has been extended and is now open until 19 January 2024. We look forward to receiving your applications and are happy to answer any questions you may have.
