wir freuen uns, Marina Rauchenbacher vom Institut für Kulturmanagement und Gender Studies zur FWF-Förderung ihrer Publikation „Comics Studies x Gender Studies“ gratulieren zu dürfen. Herzlichen Glückwunsch! Wir laden Sie sehr herzlich zur Langen Nacht der Forschung 2024 ein! Für die mdw, die seit 2016 bei der „LNF“ vertreten ist, findet heuer eine Premiere statt: Erstmals wird der mdw-Campus geöffnet und Besucher_innen haben Gelegenheit, an drei Stationen – Bibliothek, Institut für musikalische Akustik (IWK) und Future Art Lab – von 17 bis 23 Uhr ein vielfältiges Programm zu genießen. Wir freuen uns auf Ihr Kommen mit Familie und Freund_innen! Zu einem besonders schönen Anlass wollen wir Sie ebenfalls einladen: Die feierliche Verleihung des Herta & Kurt Blaukopf Awards 2024 für herausragende Dissertationen an der mdw findet am 19. Juni, 17 Uhr, im Bankettsaal statt. Wir freuen uns darauf, mit den ausgezeichneten Forscher_innen auf ihre Leistungen anzustoßen! Das Thema „Knowledge Valorisation“ steht im Mittelpunkt des Frauen*Netzwerk-Treffens der Nationalen Kontaktstelle für geistiges Eigentum im offenen Wissenstransfer (NCP IP) der FFG, das am 4. Juni von 15-17 Uhr in Kooperation mit der mdw und den anderen Wiener Kunstuniversitäten stattfindet. Details zur Veranstaltung finden Sie online. Seit April 2024 ist die mdw Mitglied von CLARIAH-AT, einem österreichweiten Konsortium für die Weiterentwicklung der Forschung im Bereich der Digital Humanities und insbesondere für die Aufarbeitung des digitalen Kulturerbes. Diese Themen sollen dadurch auch an der mdw gestärkt werden. In diesem Zusammenhang möchten wir auch auf die Summerschool „Vom Archiv zum Algorithmus. Digital Humanities in der Praxis“ am 9.-13. September an der Paris-Lodron-Universität Salzburg hinweisen. Die Bewerbung ist noch bis zum 6. Juni möglich. Bei Bedarf kann die Forschungsförderung Aufenthaltskosten für die Teilnahme anteilig übernehmen. Ebenfalls im April fand die von der UNIKO organisierte Konferenz „Karrierewege in der Wissenschaft und Research Assessment“ statt. Die bei dieser Gelegenheit präsentierte, gleichnamige Studie mit Empfehlungen und Good-Practice-Beispielen sowie eine umfassende Nachlese zu den Beiträgen finden Sie auf der Webseite von OSA. Im Bereich der internen Förderungen möchten wir unsere Early-stage Researcher darüber informieren, dass aufgrund der vielen hervorragenden Bewerbungen in der Regel nur eine Mobilität pro Jahr im Rahmen des Programms International Mobility for ESR gefördert werden kann. Our sincere congratulations! We cordially invite you to the Lange Nacht der Forschung 2024! For the mdw, which has been represented at the “LNF” since 2016, this year will be a premiere: For the first time, the mdw campus will be open and visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a diverse programme in three locations - the Library, the Department of Musical Acoustics and the Future Art Lab – on 24 May from 5-11 pm. We look forward to welcoming you and your family and friends! We would also like to invite you to a particularly special occasion: The festive presentation of the Herta & Kurt Blaukopf Award 2024 for outstanding dissertations at the mdw will take place on 19 June, 5 pm, in the Banquet Hall. We look forward to celebrating their achievements with the award-winning researchers! The topic "Knowledge Valorisation" is the focus of the Women*Network Meeting of the National Contact Point for Intellectual Property in Open Knowledge Transfer (NCP IP) of the FFG, which will take place on 4 June from 3-5 pm in cooperation with the mdw and the other Viennese art universities. Details and registration for the event are available online. Since April 2024, the mdw has been a member of CLARIAH-AT, an Austria-wide consortium for the further development of research in the field of digital humanities and in particular for digital cultural heritage. These topics are also to be strengthened and further developed at the mdw. In this context, we would also like to draw attention to the summer school “From Archive to Algorithm. Digital Humanities in Practice” on 9-13 September at the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg. Applications can be submitted until 6 June. If applicable, Research Support Office can cover part of the accommodation costs for participation. The conference “Career paths in science and research assessment” organised by UNIKO also took place in April. The study of the same name presented at this event with recommendations and examples of good practice as well as a comprehensive review of the contributions can be found on the OSA website. Regarding mdw-internal funding, we would like to inform our early-stage researchers that, due to the large number of outstanding applications, as a general rule only one mobility per year can be funded as part of the International Mobility for ESR programme.
