#14 Newsletter Graduate Center

Welcome to the new semester! We hope that you have all recharged your batteries over the summer break and are ready to start the new term. There are several opportunities for early-stage researchers in the autumn, and we encourage you to apply for calls that interest you.

Welcome Events for new doctoral students

In order to get first information and orientation, the Graduate Center invites all doctoral students new to the mdw (and the ones, who couldn't make it last year) to our Welcome Event on Friday 11 October 2024 in the afternoon. For further information see our calendar. We are very much looking forward to this event and to meet all new doctoral students. Please save the date and register via graduiertenzentrum@mdw.ac.at.

Part two of the onboarding process is a workshop on Monday, October 14. We will discuss different phases within the doctoral research process and competencies to develop during the doctoral studies. This workshop is aimed specifically at PhD students and will take place from 10-12am. Please register for this event as well via graduiertenzentrum@mdw.ac.at.

We would also like to draw your attention to the possibility of participating in the Doc-Buddy program. The Doc-Buddy group consists of experienced and new doctoral students and offers new students orientation at mdw as well as valuable networking opportunities in the first semester. For this program, too, we ask you to register by October 01 via graduiertenzentrum@mdw.ac.at.
