Liebe Kolleg_innen,
Wir freuen uns, Sie im neuen Jahr 2025 begrüßen zu dürfen! Besonders möchten wir Klaus Lang willkommen heißen, der die Professur am Institut für Orgel, Orgelforschung und Kirchenmusik übernommen hat und sein PEEK-Projekt „ORGANON – Zeitgenössische Renaissance der Orgelmusik“ an unserer Universität umsetzen wird. Ein spannender Beitrag zur Weiterentwicklung der künstlerischen Forschung an der mdw! Darüber hinaus freuen wir, auf die ersten Publikation "Doing Music Mediation. International Perspectives on a Multi-Faceted Practice" des "International Journal of Music Mediation (IJMM)" hinzuweisen. Das IJMM markiert einen bedeutenden Meilenstein für die Forschung: es ist das erste internationale, peer-reviewte Journal im Fach Musikvermittlung. Die Launch-Party, bei der das Journal vorgestellt wird, findet am Mittwoch, 22. Jänner, 19:00 Uhr statt. Die Anmeldung für die mdw Klausur der Wissenschaften am 3. März 2025 ist eröffnet. Wir freuen uns sehr auf Ihre Teilnahme an der Veranstaltung, und über Ihre Registrierung bis spätestens 9. Februar 2025. Außerdem bieten wir noch freie Plätze im dreiteiligen Workshop „Kreative Videogestaltung in der Wissensvermittlung mit Open Source Tools“ an. Der Kurs, den wir in Kooperation mit dem mdw Zentrum für Weiterbildung durchführen, findet am 19. und 20. Februar sowie am 20. März 2025 statt. Nach dem äußerst erfolgreichen Abschluss des strukturierten Doktoratsprogramms setzt die mdw mit der Ausschreibung von sechs Doktoratsstellen den Weg der strukturierten, interdisziplinären Doktoratsausbildung fort. Bis zum 28. Februar 2025 ist die Bewerbung für das im Herbst beginnende Doktoratsstudium unter dem Titel „Performing Matters. Manifold Temporalities“ möglich. Abschließend möchten wir Sie auf aktuelle Angebote der European League of Institutes of the Arts (ELIA) aufmerksam machen. Als Mitglied dieses weltweiten Netzwerks unterstützt die mdw die Teilnahme ihrer Angehörigen in unterschiedlichen Formaten des internationalen Austauschs und der Weiterbildung. Mit über 260 Mitgliedern in 48 Ländern vertritt ELIA mehr als 300.000 Studierende aller künstlerischen Disziplinen. We wish you a happy new year 2025! We would especially like to welcome Klaus Lang, who has taken over the professorship at the Department of Organ, Organ Research and Church Music and will realise his PEEK project ‘ORGANON - Contemporary Renaissance of Organ Music’ at our university. An exciting contribution to the further development of artistic research at the mdw! We are also pleased to announce the first publication ‘Doing Music Mediation. International Perspectives on a Multi-Faceted Practice’ of the 'International Journal of Music Mediation (IJMM)'. The IJMM marks an important milestone for research: it is the first international, peer-reviewed journal in the field of music mediation. The launch party, at which the journal will be presented, will take place on Wednesday, 22 January at 19:00. Registration for the mdw Resarch Conclave on 3 March 2025 opened this week. We very much look forward to your participation in this event, and to receive your enrolment until lastest 9 February 2025. Moreover, we are still offering free places in the three-part workshop ‘Creative video design in knowledge transfer with open source tools’. The course, which we are running in cooperation with the mdw Centre for Continuing Education, will take place on 19 and 20 February and 20 March 2025. Following the very successful completion of the structured doctoral programme, the mdw is continuing on the path of structured, interdisciplinary doctoral training with the announcement of six doctoral positions for a new programme. Applications are open until 28 February 2025 for the doctoral programme starting in autumn under the title ‘Performing Matters. Manifold Temporalities’. Finally, we would like to draw your attention to current events and trainings from the European League of Institutes of the Arts (ELIA).As a member of this global network, the mdw supports the participation of its members in various formats of international exchange and further education. With over 260 members in 48 countries, ELIA represents more than 300,000 students from all artistic disciplines.
