Gertraud Wimmer

Gertraud Wimmer is a Vienna flautist with an ability to express through playing diverse spheres of human soul.
She is especially fascinated by the subtle nuances of the baroque traverso.
After finishing her flute studies Gertraud Wimmer obtained from the Swiss confederation a three-year scholarship that has authorized her to study at the Schola Cantorum Basiliens is. After that she continued her Early Music postgraduate studies in the class of Barthold Kujiken in The Haag.
Since 1996 she has taught at the University of Music in Vienna.
She regularly gives lectures at different international master classes and performs with different baroque ensembles. Gertraud Wimmer has performed as a guest soloist by different festivals like “Bach Tagen Berlin”.
She is a member of Bach Consort in Vienna.
