Wolfgang GAISBÖCK

Starting in 1990, Wolfgang Gaisböck studied trumpet at the Bruckner Conservatory Linz with Josef Eidenberger and at the Mozarteum Salzburg with Hans Gansch. He has been a member of the Camerata Salzburg since 1996. As a soloist he has been involved with prestigious Early Music ensembles (Concentus Musicus under Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Il Giardino Armonico, Concerto Köln, „The Bach Ensemble“ under Joshua Rifkin). Concerts with theses ensembles led to performances at the Berlin philharmony, at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, at the Teatro Municipale Valli in Italy as well as performances in Finland, Japan, Slovenia and – during the proms – in the Royal Albert Hall.

Gaisböck is considered one of the leading baroque trumpet players and specialist for the 2nd Brancenburg Concerto and the cantatas of J. S. Bach. He also co-founded the “Schwanthaler Trompeten Consort”.
