Eva Saladin studied violin with Kees Koelmans and Lucy van Dael at the Amsterdam Conservatory and subsequently baroque violin with Leila Schayegh and David Plantier at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where she graduated with honors in 2013. She also studied historical improvisation intensively in Rudolf Lutz\u2019s class.<\/p>\n

Today she lives in Basel as a freelance musician. Her work consists of chamber music and orchestral projects as well as solo recitals with a repertoire ranging from the early Baroque to the early Romantic period. She places great emphasis on historical playing techniques, stylistically appropriate ornamentation, and improvisation as integral components of her concert programs. She is also committed to contemporary music theater and performance, as well as free improvisation.<\/p>\n

In addition to her solo performances and her work with her own ensemble, Odyssee, Eva Saladin is concertmaster of the La Cetra Baroque Orchestra Basel and Gli Angeli Gen\u00e8ve, and performs regularly – mostly in leading roles – with ensembles such as Collegium Vocale Gent, Il Profondo, Profeti della Quinta, and Il Gusto Barocco.<\/p>\n

In 2021, she was Artist in Residence at the Oude Muziek Utrecht Festival and also performs at festivals and in concert series such as Freunde Alter Musik Basel, Festival de Saintes, Festival de Lanvellec, Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik, Barockfestspiele Bad Arolsen, H\u00e4ndelfestspiele Halle, Barockfestspiele Sanssouci, Th\u00fcringer Bachwochen, MA Festival Brugge, Les Nuits de Septembre, Festival de Verbier, York Early Music Festival, and Crete Senesi.<\/p>\n

She has given masterclasses at institutions including the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, the Conservatory of Amsterdam, the Cologne University of Music and Dance, and the Forum Alte Musik: St. Gerold.<\/p>\n

Eva Saladin has recorded CDs for labels including Glossa (solo album \u201cThe Di Martinelli Manuscript\u201c 2021), Resonando, PanClassics, and BrilliantClassics. In May 2023, her complete recording of the sonatas by Antonio Pandolfi Mealli was released by Challenge Records.<\/p>\n
