Information can be found in the<a href=\"https:\/\/mdw.ac.at\/altemusik\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Alte-Musik-im-Instrumentalstudium-26S-v3-web.pdf\"> <strong>PDF brochure.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This includes individual or group lessons on historical instruments, as well as chamber music, baroque orchestra, historical dance and theoretical subjects. Depending on availability, the following historical instruments are available:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Baroque violin, baroque viola, baroque cello, viola da gamba, viola d&#8217;amore<\/li>\n<li>Traverse flute, baroque oboe\/classical oboe, recorder, baroque bassoon\/dulcian, historical clarinet\/chalumeau<\/li>\n<li>Baroque trombone, baroque trumpet, natural horn<\/li>\n<li>Baroque guitar\/vihuela, lute\/theorbo, harpsichord, fortepiano<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The various institutes at the mdw have a pool of historical instruments and replicas available for loan (subject to availability!).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong> If you are interested, please contact the Institute for Early Music <em>in good time<\/em> \u2013 see the back for contact details!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Some courses have early registration deadlines for an audition and aptitude interview.<\/li>\n<li>Contacting us in good time gives you the opportunity to obtain information.
