If you&#8217;re asking yourself, &#8222;what exactly is a Ranzler?!&#8220;, the answer is: one can only guess. \u00a0One way or another, they are reinterpreting famous Jazz and Popsongs, putting a new spin on Austrian folk music and delve into the depths of different cultures. The six young musicians are on a highly successful course in both classical and popular music. Markus Adam, David Gruber, Paul Gritsch, Anton Prettler and Johannes Weichinger (Reeds) are impressively pushing their instruments to their limit and beyond \u2013 Andreas Salvatore B\u00f6cklinger&#8217;s Grooves provide the necessary cohesion. &#8222;Die Ranzler&#8220; promise an exciting mdw welcome party!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Manteka \u2013 Women power meets Salsa<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mdw.ac.at\/upload\/mdwUNI\/img\/manteka_orig.jpg\" alt=\"Manteka\" \/><em>Photo: \u00a9Sophie Salfinger<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Fans of demanding salsa music are sure to be impressed by Mantekas high-toned grooves. The ensemble successfully combines intensive salsa with surprising arrangements and is a true exception in the male dominated scene, as more than half of its members are women. This new generation of salsa boldly puts forward different artistic styles and directions.
