3. Mauricio Kagel Composition Competition 2016
The 3rd Mauricio Kagel Composition Competition took place from 9 - 12 February 2016. The aim of the competition is the creation and dissemination of new piano works for children or young people.
From 176 compositions submitted from 41 countries, a distinguished jury nominated 18 pieces for the final, which were performed by students and discussed in public as part of the Vienna Days of Contemporary Piano Music. The three prize-winning pieces were published by Universal Edition in the volume K2016.
