We’ve been filling this page with more and more information on accessibility at the mdw so that you’ll be able to find everything you’d like to know about accessible studies, accessible teaching, accessible further education, and accessible enjoyment of the arts at the University.

We’re there for you, and we’ll be happy to receive your suggestions on measures that could be implemented to make the mdw even more accessible to everyone!

Current Coronavirus Testing Information

According to information from the Vienna Social Fund (Fonds Soziales Wien), the following two types of support are available to those who wish to use the mass testing centre at Messe Wien:
 

  • For seniors or other people who have difficulty walking, 80 wheelchairs are available at the Messe Wien location. Austrian military personnel will be available to accompany wheelchair users; their assistance may be requested upon arrival.
  • The Messe Wien testing centre staff includes two members who know Austrian sign language and may be asked for support.

In order to ensure safe attendance of events at the mdw, the 2G Rule (vaccinated or recovered), an FFP2 mask mandate (including once seated), and mandatory provision of contact data (QR code registration) have been in effect since 1 October 2021. Inclusive Teaching, Learning, and Research at the mdw

The film ALL STARS INCLUSIVE BAND. Inclusive Teaching, Learning, and Research at the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna was created as part of the 2018 Gender|Queer|Diversity Call of the Vice Rectorate for Organisational Development, Gender & Diversity in cooperation with the Department of Music Education Research, Music Didactics and Elementary Music Education (IMP) and the Department of Music and Movement Education/Rhythmics and Music Physiology (MBM). It provides students and faculty with an introduction to inclusive music pedagogy as a field of practice, research, and teaching. Director: Cordula Thym
