Statutory provisions

University professors are responsible for teaching, for the advancement and appreciation of the arts (EEK), and for conducting research in their field.

Artists or scientists, whether from Austria or elsewhere, may be appointed if they hold the relevant artistic or academic and professional qualifications. Specific requirements can be found in the respective announcement.

Upon completion of the appointment procedure pursuant to Section 98 UG, university professors shall be appointed by the Rector.
