Interlibrary Lending

For ub.mdw Users

Books, printed music, and articels in periodicals that are not available from any other library in Vienna may be requested from other Austrian/European libraries as interlibrary loans.

Please first search for full details of the location and library call number of the work of your choice. (see: > External Catalogues) and then e-mail it to us.
Further information is available from the information service in the reading room.

For interlibrary loans, you need to have a ub.mdw > library card.
Up to five interlibrary loans per person and per month can be made. For information on related expenses, see > Reimbursement of Costs – Interlibrary Lending.

For Users of Other Libraries

If you have a library card for a library outside of Vienna and would like to order an item from the ub.mdw, please contact your home library’s interlibrary lending department.

We happily accept IFLA vouchers.
The ub.mdw does not carry out interlibrary loans outside of Europe.
