Loaning the Library Laptop

The ub.mdw’s computer inventory includes a convertible laptop (a Microsoft Surface Pro 4, consisting of a tablet, detachable keyboard, and Bluetooth stylus) that can be made available to library users fas research and work tool.

Installed software includes Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Libre Office 5.3, Muse Score 2, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Acrobat Reader DC.

This laptop connects to the Internet via preconfigured Wi-Fi access and has a USB 3 port for saving your data.

Library users can loan and return it at the information service desk outside the reading room.

Terms of Use

• All registered holders of a valid library card are entitled to borrow the library’s laptop.
• Users must deposit a valid photo ID at the desk while the laptop is checked out.
• This unit may only be used inside the main library at Anton-von-Webern-Platz.
• The maximum borrowing period is limited to 4 hours per day and per individual.
• The laptop must be returned to the information service desk outside the reading room at least 15 minutes before the library closes.
• After it is returned, all saved data will be deleted and the computer’s standard configuration will be restored.
• Users will be held liable for any damage to hardware and/or software.
• Loaning the laptop implies acceptance of these terms of use.
