Bread Of My Siblings And Me
1 mobile phone photo, 1 mobile phone video, 00min23
The film miniature and the photo were created on impulse:
What are their windows looking out onto?
The film miniature and the photo were created in the third lab on the subject of siblings.
The mobile phone photo shows a whole flatbread in front of a microwave oven. The mobile phone video shows a loaf of bread from which a slice is cut. The knife, the cutting board and the hands of the person cutting the slice of bread gradually become visible. At first the camera is close to the bread, the texture of the bread is clearly recognisable, slowly the camera moves further away and the bread, board, knife and hand become visible.
The window is a symbol of hope. The small bubbles in the bread dough are reminiscent of little windows and seem like hope to us.
Where are the windows of your siblings looking?
What does this view symbolise?
How would you intuitively depict it artistically?
What kind of food did you and your siblings eat regularly?
What was everyday food?
What was considered special food?
How did you share food among yourselves?
Was food a cause for conflict?
When did your family eat?
How do you eat your meals today?
What aspects of social class, location, age, space, ability and gender can you intuitively read into the topic of food and family meals?
