Emotions for My Father

The work was created during the exploration prompted by the Absurd Questionnaire:

I doubt,

I mourn,

I am angry,

I am sad

The works were created at home in the second lab on the topic of father/fathers.

The first screenshot shows the prompts in large blue letters – I DOUBT, I MOURN, I AM ANGRY, I AM SAD

The second screenshot shows a painted-over carpet.

The third screenshot shows a painted-over carpet.

This carpet depicts a tiger, a majestic creature that has since become extinct. Tigers once inhabited the lands where my ancestors lived, symbolizing power, beauty, pride, and dignity. Over this depiction, I placed a drawing showing the shadow of a romantic relationship—a faded, blurred dream of people who might have been around. Additionally, I integrated soil from the Zagros Mountains onto the carpet, symbolizing their burial grounds.

Where do I find doubt, mourning, anger, and sadness in my relationship with my father/fathers?

Where do I locate these emotions?

Would I like to change something about them?

How do I relate these emotions to my father’s social class, age, place, time, gender, and abilities?

How would I artistically translate these emotions?

Does my father/fathers know about these emotions?
