Encyclopaedia of my Mother

The entire catalogue is in the Artist Researcher’s mobile phone.

The creation of the catalogue, the encyclopaedia of the mother, was an idea of the Artist Researcher.

Inspired by Georges Perec (Die Dinge, 1965), who made long object lists of all the objects in rooms in his books, this Artist Researcher decided to start something similar for her own mother. What objects does she associate with her mother? What kind of story does the totality of these things next to each other tell?

In addition to the digital photo album, this artist researcher has created a Spotify list of all the songs she associates with her mother. However, this Spotify list is private to the artist researcher.

(In the autosociobiographical exploration, artefacts were repeatedly created that were not shared, that were only private to oneself).

What things are in my mother’s encyclopaedia?

What things do I see? What things do I not (yet) see?

What things do I understand? What things do I not (yet) understand?

How do these things all look next to each other? How do I organise these things?
