The conversion of the curricula to a two-tier system of study (Bachelor|Master) as part of the university reform was only a first step on the way to modern, flexible curricula that can be applied to the different needs of students. For this reason, the legal regulations at the Department of Vocal Studies and Music Theatre are subject to constant evaluation and are being adapted on an ongoing basis. At present, the responsible body, the Study Commission for Voice and Music Theatre Direction, is particularly concerned with aspects such as the integration of project teaching, the modernization of the examination system, the flexibilization of study courses and the individual adaptation of learning content to different educational situations within the framework of modularized training programs and the creation of elective subject platforms. With this in mind, the decision-makers at the Department for Vocal Studies and Music Theater at the mdw - University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna strive to provide students with a practice-oriented training concept with contemporary content that can be adapted to different training situations (flexible content, career guidance).
