Lorelai Petrescu, Pianist

Originally from Romania, the pianist received her first lessons at the age of six years at the Art Lyceum in her hometown of Ploiesti. From 1994 to 2001 she studied at the Music School in Bucharest, in 2001 she joined the Folkwang Musikhochschule in Essen, where she was a master student of Prof. Michael Roll. In addition, the pianist graduated from studying chamber music in 2006 with distinction. In 2008 followed the conclusion of her professional concert studies.
Lorelai Petresu has won numerous national and international competitions (including the special prize at the competition Duo Solistic in Romania and first prize as accompanist at the vocal competition Euregio in the Netherlands). 2005-2007 she was a lecturer for piano and accompaniment at the Music School in Essen Werderner, 2006 to 2007 Accompanist at the ballet and drama school Kapsch. Since 2007 the pianist is living and works in Vienna. Besides her work as musical assistant accompanist, she is director of studies at numerous opera productions at home and abroad (among others at the Chamber Opera Krefeld, City Opera Soest, Opera Bergen, Music University of Vienna, the Carinthian Summer 2011, at the "Vienna Summer Music Festival"-2018;2019)). Appearances on radio and television productions round off their musical performances.
