Andreas Fröschl, PianistAndreas Fröschl stands for musical versatility at the highest level. In 2019, for example, the sought-after lied accompanist won 2nd prize as a piano soloist at the prestigious Bösendorfer Competition in Vienna and in the same year released his first solo album Warum nicht. on Preiser Records, a double CD on which he presents not only classical piano works but also self-composed cabaret. Andreas Fröschl was born in Munich in 1988, grew up in Landshut and has lived in Vienna since 2008. He studied at the MDW with Oleg Maisenberg, Stefan Arnold, David Lutz and Charles Spencer and graduated with honors in both concert piano and piano-vocal accompaniment. In addition to numerous solo programs in recent years, his great passion is the lied genre, in which he has performed on numerous international stages with Robert Holl, Daniel Johannsen, Theresa Dax, Christina Sidak, Nina Bernsteiner, Christoph Filler and Jan Petryka, among others, and in 2014 was awarded the prize for best lied accompanist at the International Johannes Brahms Competition in Pörtschach. In 2016 the CD #talesoflove with baritone Georg Klimbacher was released by Preiser Records and was awarded the Bank Austria Kunstpreis. In 2022, the highly acclaimed CD 360° Hugo Wolf with Daniel Johannsen followed. In 2013 Andreas Fröschl made his debut as a soloist at the Vienna Musikverein, and in 2014 as a Lied accompanist at the Vienna Konzerthaus. Since 2017, Andreas Fröschl has been teaching himself at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, first as an assistant in the area of concert piano, meanwhile since 2020 as a Lied accompanist in the class of Florian Boesch.
