Michaela Schuster is one of the most important representatives of her field worldwide.

The mezzo-soprano, born in Bavaria, completed her oboe studies at the Mozarteum Salzburg and then studied singing with Helena Łazarska, also at the Mozarteum Salzburg, and at the Berlin University of the Arts with Jarmila Rudolfovà-Kratzer.

She has sung leading roles at opera houses such as: Vienna State Opera, Royal Opera House in Covent Garden (London), Teatro Real (Madrid), Bavarian State Opera (Munich), Staatsoper Unter den Linden (Berlin), Metropolitan Opera (New York), Teatro alla Scala (Milan) and many more. In Richard Wagner roles she can be heard as Kundry (Parsifal), Sieglinde (Die Walküre), Ortrud (Lohengrin); in Richard Strauss roles as Klytämnestra (Elektra), Amme (Die Frau ohne Schatten); in Giuseppe Verdi's operas as Eboli (Don Carlos), Amneris (Aida), among others. Italian roles include Laura (La Gioconda by Amilcare Ponchielli), Principessa (Suor Angelica by Giacomo Puccini) and Zita (Gianni Schicchi by Giacomo Puccini). Her French roles include Carmen (Carmen by Georges Bizet) and Charlotte (Werther by Jules Massenet).

She has given concerts at the Cologne and Berlin Philharmonie, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Chicago Symphony Hall, the Festspielhaus Bregenz and the Musikverein Vienna, among others. Schuster regularly works with conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, Franz Welser-Möst, Philippe Jordan, Christian Thielemann, Kirill Petrenko and many more. She conducts international master classes in the USA, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. She received important awards and accolades for her first song CD Morgen and her second Unvergänglichkeit.
