Mentoring-programme for artists at the mdw who aspire to a university career (women, inter* and non-binary persons)

 

Anna Guggenberger, BA MA studied tuba concert subject (Bachelor's and Master's degrees) and IGP (Bachelor's degree) at the University of Art in Graz and at the University of Music in Vienna. Since 2013 she has been teaching tuba and tenor horn at music schools in Lower Austria (Retz, Hollabrunn and Klosterneuburg) and since the winter semester of 2019 she has been teaching the subjects of teaching practice and didactics for brass instruments as well as “leadership” at the “Franz Schubert Institute for Wind and Percussion Instruments in Music Education”. Mag.a Katharina Hörmann was born in Wiener Neustadt in 1995 and received her first lessons on the Viennese oboe at the age of eight. In 2010 she was admitted to the mdw, where she studied with Professors Harald Hörth and Klaus Lienbacher​​​​​ Preparatory course and concert studies, the latter of which she completed with honors in 2021. Katharina Hörmann is the winner of numerous competitions, including the winner of the Casino Austria Rising Star Awards. Mag.a Dorothy Khadem-Missagh, BA, hailed as a “breath of fresh air” by Gramophone magazine, is an Austrian pianist. In international demand as a soloist and chamber musician, her performances have taken her to renowned stages such as the Vienna Music Association, Vienna Konzerthaus, Styriarte Graz, Liszt Festival Raiding, Mosel Music Festival, Philharmonic Luxembourg and many others. as well as collaboration with important orchestras. Mag.art. Marlene Lacherstorfer, Bakk.art., born in Upper Austria in 1982, has been a freelance musician/bassist and music and movement teacher/rhythmics teacher since 2005. Teaching since 2010 in the areas of movement accompaniment and improvisation, inclusive band as well as practice and didactics of inclusive ensemble direction at the mdw. Mag.a Jera H. Petriček was born in Slovenia, where she completed university studies in French and Russian in 2010. In 2011 she moved to Vienna, where she studied orchestral conducting with Prof. Simeon Pironkoff at the University of Music and Performing Arts (mdw) in 2018. In 2017 she founded the Slovenian Chamber Orchestra Vienna, in which established Slovenian musicians play together with students. In autumn 2018 she was employed as musical assistant to choir director Thomas Lang at the Vienna State Opera. In 2019 she took over the artistic direction of the Mödlinger Symphonic Orchestra for autumn and New Year's Eve 2019. In 2020 she became assistant conductor at the Maribor Opera. Since 2021 she has been studying PhD (musicology with a focus on female conductors) with mentor Prof. Dr. Melanie Unseld at the mdw. Mag.a Elisabeth Plank presents the harp as a versatile and fascinating instrument, with an unusual repertoire and a wide stylistic range. Mag.a Kathrin Resetarits works as an author, dramaturge, director and actress, lives in Vienna. Artistic assistant to Michael Haneke since 2000. The Dresden graduate, Diplom-Mus.-Päd. ​​​​​​​Gabriele Rösel studied solo singing and vocal pedagogy at the Dresden University of Music. She made her debut at the Dresden State Operetta at the age of twenty. After completing her studies, she was hired as an ensemble member at this theater and over 17 years worked on a wide range of roles in opera, operetta and musicals. Further engagements took her to over 17 theaters in German-speaking and international countries. Her repertoire now includes more than 60 roles. Martina Stückler, MA, born in Wolfsberg im Lavanttal in 1990, discovered her love for the saxophone at the age of nine. The Carinthian woman completed her saxophone studies and a master's degree in instrumental pedagogy at the​​​​​​​ University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Oto Vhrovnik and Barbara Strack-Hanisch and at the ArtEZ Hogeschool voor de Kunsten with Johan van der Linden with highest honors. Mag.a Iva Zabkar has been working as a composer for film and media for more than 10 years. She has composed the music for various feature films, television films, commercials and numerous short films. Iva Zabkar teaches at the Popakademie/JSBM music school, is co-producer of the electronic art pop project iNANA and kotomaki and co-founder of the composer collective track15-female composers collective.
