Entrance Examination

1. 1 etude at a level of difficulty equivalent to that of: F. Pozzoli, Studi di media difficoltà
2. 1 sonata at a level of difficulty equivalent to that of: F. J. Naderman, Sonatas No. 2–4; J. B. Krumpholtz, Sonata in B Major
3. 1 solo work at a level of difficulty equivalent to that of: M. Tournier, 4 Preuldes; P. Angerer, Stadium Veronicae
4. 1 piece from the realm of (Alpine, Irish, or Latin American) folk music or 1 piece
from the realm of popular music.


Final Examination

Examination Programme:

  • The candidate must prepare 3 works or individual movements of differing stylistic eras and genres, with chamber music being possible but not obligatory.
  • These must include 1 slow movement and 1 fast movement.
  • One’s programme should be of ca. 15 minutes’ total duration.

Evaluation Criteria

Under evaluation here are specific practical abilities on one’s instrument as well as appropriate musical interpretation and presentation of one’s pieces. Special consideration is also given to how one’s artistic skills have developed.
