Stephan Geene works artistically as a filmmaker and theoretically on the “materiality of the post-war”. He is currently developing a project on plastic (‘Plastic’s Paradigm) in collaboration with the Artistic Research Center (ARC) and the International Research Center Gender and Performativity (ICGP) at the mdw.

Stephan Geene is co-founder of b_books, a Berlin art and publishing collective, where he has translated Paul B. Preciado, Maurizio Lazzarato and Jacques Rancière, among others, into German. His most recent work was the film/series SHAYNE (D 2019) and the book Freiheit 71: Ricky Shayne, Musik und die Materialität des Nachkriegs (Berlin 2022).
