Walter Reicher
Walter Reicher is Chairman of the Board of the International Joseph Haydn Private Foundation Eisenstadt. He studied Business Administration at the Vienna University of Economics (he wrote his dissertation on "Functions of Management in Art Museums"), Theater Studies at the University of Vienna and Cultural Management at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
He gained his diverse professional experience in the field of culture and events on the one hand in museums and exhibitions as assistant to the director of the Museum of Modern Art in Vienna, as managing director of an art association, as an expert in museum buildings and as curator of exhibitions in Austria and abroad. In the field of music, he was for thirty years the artistic director and managing director of the Haydn Festival in Eisenstadt, where he was responsible for the programming and organization of festivals and concerts ranging from chamber music to opera, cross-disciplinary events, film productions and their media support. The new Franz Liszt Concert House in Raiding and the founding of the Liszt Festival in Raiding were also built under his management. He is director of international musicological symposia and editor of a publication series.
In parallel, he has been teaching at various universities and educational institutions for over three decades.
