Gottfried J. Pokorny

Is a solo bassoonist of the Lower Austria Musical Orchestra and a teacher of brass chamber music at the University of Music and Performing Arts. Formerly, he was engaged in the Linz Bruckner Orchestra and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra; he also taught at the J. M. Hauer Conservatory in Wiener Neustadt. His teachers and master course instructors were K. Oehlberger, D.Zeman, D.Damiano, M. Turkovic and M. Werba. He is the founding member of the Viennese Brass-octet Collegiate and the Vienna Zemblinsky Quintet. Numerous radio- and CD recordings, bassoon- and chamber music courses. Concerts and tours under such conductors as S. Vegh, N. Harnoncourt, G. Pretre, Z. Mehta, C. Abbado, R. Muti, Sir G. Solti, Sir S. Rattle, M. Jansons.
