Biography

Barbara Kremser is theatre and cultural scientist, artistic researcher, co-founder and head of the university course for applied dramaturgy at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (2018 - 2023). In 2022, she completed her doctorate at the Linz University of Art (Applied Art and Cultural Studies) with honours on the subject of "Exclusive Blank Spaces". Under the pseudonym Barbara Ungepflegt, she deals with in-between spaces and utopias in the public space. Barbara Kremser aka Barbara Ungepflegt realises participatory, site-specific projects: performative installations, video works and interventions in public space. In the 2020/21 winter semester, she was a fellow at the International Research Centre for Cultural Studies (IFK). She is also the editor of the art magazine IMMERHIN / AFTER ALL, winner of the Dissident Goddesses Temple Prize (2019) for her office installation Büro Zimmer Frei at the IKM and a member of the Institute of Strollology.
