Der MA Contemporary Arts Practice (CAP) bietet Studierenden die Möglichkeit, einen Abschluss in Musikvermittlung / Community Music an der mdw zu machen.
Ziel des künstlerisch-wissenschaftlichen Masterstudiums ist eine zeitgemäß fundierte künstlerische Qualifizierung für Kunstschaffende, um in einem sich wandelnden Berufsfeld zu Beginn des 21. Jahrhunderts kompetent, innovativ und professionell handeln zu können.
Musikschaffende, die im Bereich von Musikvermittlung und Community Music tätig sind, initiieren musikalische Begegnungsräume und stiften vielfältige Beziehungen zwischen Musiken und Menschen. Dies geschieht in Formaten wie Präsentationsformen von Musik für spezielle Dialoggruppen, partizipativen Workshops und langfristigen Kooperationsprojekten sowie medialen Vermittlungsformen.
Im Studienprofil Musikvermittlung / Community Music lernen Studierende daher:
- partizipative künstlerische Formate im Dialog mit allen Beteiligten und involvierten Institutionen aus den Bereichen Bildung, Kultur und Sozialarbeit zu entwickeln und umzusetzen.
- Präsentationsformate zwischen Konzert und Musiktheater an der Schnittstelle von Kunst und Bildung für unterschiedliche Dialoggruppen zu konzipieren und durchzuführen.
- ihre Rollen als Musiker_innen, Vermittler_innen und Facilitators professionell auszufüllen.
- methodisch fundiert mit unterschiedlichen Personengruppen im Gruppen- und Einzelsetting inter- und/oder transdisziplinär zu arbeiten.
- mit und durch Musiken zwischenmenschliche Beziehungen zu initiieren und nachhaltig zu gestalten.

The MA Contemporary Arts Practice (CAP) offers students the opportunity to earn a degree in Music Mediation / Community Music at mdw.
The artistic and academic MA program aims to provide up-to-date and well-founded qualifications for artists who desire to proceed in a competent, innovative, and professional manner amidst the early 21st century’s changing occupational environment.
Music-Makers working in the field of music meditation and community music initiate musical spaces for encounter and foster diverse relationships between musics and people. This takes place through formats such music presentation for specific dialogue groups, participatory workshops, long-term collaborative projects, and various media-based approaches.
In the Music Mediation / Community Music study profile, students learn to:
- Develop and implement participatory artistic formats in dialogue with all stakeholders and institutions from the fields of education, culture, and social work.
- Design and realize presentation formats between concert and music theater at the intersection of art and education for diverse dialogue groups.
- Professionally fulfill their roles as musicians, mediators, and facilitators.
- Work with different groups and individuals in interdisciplinary and/or transdisciplinary settings.
- Use music to initiate and sustain interpersonal relationships.
