Mag. Clemens Benedikt KÖLBL
Born into a musical family and raised with the piano, he began studying architecture after graduating from high school in Innsbruck, which soon fell victim to musical, choral and band projects. He received his first singing lessons in 1996 with Maria-Luise Erlacher and came to the University of Music in Vienna in 2000 to study voice.
This was followed in 2003-04 by two formative years at the Royal College of Music in London with Prof. Dr. Neil Mackie, the PostGraduateDiploma with distinction, several opera projects and participation in numerous Austrian and English choirs and ensembles, as well as several months of study in Paris and master classes with Prof. Kurt Widmer, Roger Vignoles, Sir Thomas Allen and KS Peter Schreier, among others. In 2007 he completed his master studies with Prof. Ralf Döring and Prof. David Lutz and is currently studying with KS Wicus Slabbert.
In the meantime he teaches singing, sings, plays, conducts at the University of Music in Vienna. Besides classical music theater he is also interested in new music and especially in lively Lied and song interpretation.
