Why is the registration for the admission exams in mdwOnline not working?

If a course of study does not appear on the registration form, it means that the registration deadline has already passed or registration is not open yet. The deadlines for admission exams are not the same at our several departments.

Which documents do I have to load up in mdwOnline?

There is required to upload an artistic CV, a diploma and the programme, you want to play at the admission exam.

If you want to chance the programme after the registration, please take the new programme in copy for the committee with you on the day of the exam.

Which repertoire do I have to play at my admission exam?

The programme, which you have to play at the admission exam, is different in our studies.

These informations revise from time to time and add with the actual date for the next exam. The repertoire stays unmodified mostly.

Do I have to play the programme by heart?

Yes, you have to play the pieces by heart.

When do I get information about the result?

About the concluding results and the admission to the studies you get an email from our StudiesCenter. Due to the number of admission exams at the mdw, it may engage some time to get information.

Is an application for the same studies on different universities allowed?

Yes, that's possible. Several applications are allowed, but you can't study the same on more than one university. (see § 63 Abs 8 Universitätsgesetz 2002).

Is practicing before the audition possible?

We ask for understanding, that practicing in our exercise-rooms is not possible because of the hugh number of applicants. Before your audition we provide a practicing room for you. If you are looking for a practicing room there are several options for renting rooms with pianos in Vienna.

How does the theoretical test looks like?

There are no practicing-tests available at our institute, but you can find some example-tests of other departments.

Do I have to pay a deposit for the admission exam?

There is no deposit for the admission exams at the Department of Piano at the moment.
 

When do I have to show a german-language certificate?

For registration to our admission exams there is no language certificate necessary. During your studies there are different point in time to certificate the language. Further informationen about the german-language certificate.

Do I need an entrance permit for the admission exams? How can I get this permit?
