The mdw is committed to sustainability in its teaching, research, and in the development and exploration of the arts (EEK), as well as in its operational organisation. This commitment must be understood holistically in line with the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals and is grounded in a clear stance of treating nature and people with respect and mindfulness.

SUSTAINABILITY IN THE ERASMUS+

Environmental and climate protection are central priorities of the European Union and the European Green Deal is the strategy aimed at achieving climate neutrality by 2050. The Erasmus+ programme plays a key role by promoting knowledge and skills related to climate change and supporting sustainable development.

In addition to inclusion & diversity, digital transformation, and participation in democratic life, environmental and climate protection are among the key priorities of the Erasmus+ Programme.

Students are therefore encouraged to use low-emission transport for journeys under 500km and are eligible for increased travel grants when opting for sustainable travel.
