"Treasures of Fieldwork on Music and Minorities - A Selection of Ursula Hemetek's Field Recordings"

on the occasion of the 60th birthday of the head of our institute Ursula Hemetek

The head of the Department of Folk Music Research and Ethnomusicology of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, a.o. Univ.-Prof. Dr. phil. Ursula Hemetek turns 60 in October 2016.

The department took this as an occasion for a festive event in honour of Ursula Hemetek on Friday, October 7th, 5 pm in the Joseph Haydn Hall of the mdw, Anton-von-Webern-Platz 1, 1030 Vienna.

In addition to the presentation of a CD, from the series - Sound documents to the national music in Austria, Volume 8 – containing some of Ursula Hemetek's most precious fieldwork recordings in the area of music and minorities, as well as appearances of numerous companions of Ursula Hemetek's professional life, who will trace the outstanding career of the celebratee.
