We are going to witness an extraordinary pedagogic initiative. Mansur Bildik, an very famous Saz-Master and -teacher from Turkey, living in Vienna, decided to publish his teaching materials in written form. This is the first Saz-teaching material in three languages that exists in Austria.

He is going to present his book as well as his method of teaching.

Mansur Bildik was born in Tunceli in 1949; he got his fi rst saz lessons from his father. He worked from 1975 to 1980 at the TRT (Turkish Radio Television) as a saz player. He has lived in Vienna since 1980. In 1984 he began to teach the saz in several music schools. In 1993 he founded a saz association together with other Turkish and Austrian academics and artists. His aim has been to popularise and internationalise Turkish music and the saz.
