Die Referentin ist der internationalen und der österreichischen Fachwelt durch zahlreiche Vorträge und Publikationen bekannt. Sie ist Autorin der CD Notes from Latvia. Multipart Music in the Field aus der Serie European Voices: Audiovisuals des Forschungszentrums für Europäische Mehrstimmigkeit am IVE.

Der öffentliche Gastvortrag findet im Rahmen der Vorlesung Einführung in die Ethnomusikologie/Volksmusikforschung statt.

Zum Inhalt:

Dzīduošona or pusbolsu (singing with a half-part) is specific to multipart singing in northern Latgale. The performance of the pusbolss part is characterised as “yelling” or “raising up” by the singers. The focus of this lecture will be on the issue of social and cultural interaction as musical behaviour through an experiment with performers of different ages and from different groups
