Recent prizes and awards received by staff members

Ursula Hemetek receives for their outstanding achievements in the field of minority research in ethnomusicology mdw Professor and head of the Institute Ursula Hemetek prestigious scientific award Wittgenstein-Preis. With it receives also the computer scientist and mathematician Herbert Edelsbrunner (is) the Science Prize.

Hande Sağlam and Wei-Ya Lin receive the award for “Education for Sustainable Development – BEST OF AUSTRIA” in the field “Environments for Learning and Teaching” for the project Music Without Borders. The award is presented by the FORUM Environmental Education, an initiative of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management Federal Ministry and the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education. It will be awarded on 20 November 2017.

Marko Kölbl receives the Award of Excellence – State Prize for Outstanding Dissertations, presented by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Science, Research and Economy. It will be awarded on 7 December 2017.
