Performance Science Lab
The IWK Performance Science Lab is designed to enable students and researchers to measure performance properties with minimal disruption to the performing musicians. We have an optical Motion Capture System combined (and synchronized) with a pair of mobile eyetracking goggles. These recordings are synchronized with audio, MIDI, and data from other sensors (acceleration, vibration, etc.). Alongside this lab setup, there is a beautiful Bösendorfer concert grand piano equipped with the CEUS recording and reproducing system. It is designed to record on-stage performances in a way that does not interfere with the performers or the audience.
