7th International Csound Conference (ICSC)
The ICSC serves as a platform for the global Csound community, bringing together artists and academics for concerts, paper presentations, keynote talks and round tables. We extend a warm invitation to everyone to submit proposals for papers, music, installations and workshops, or simply to attend and participate in this exciting event!
Vienna Talk 2020
On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Institute of Music Acoustics (Wiener Klangstil), we are inviting for the Fourth Vienna Talk on Music Acoustics and Performance Science 2020. This symposium will start with a welcome party on September 13 and will prosumably end on September 16, 2020.
Piano Day 2016
The Department of Music Acoustics organizes the Piano Day 2016, a Symposium "From the early pianoforte to the modern piano" with a concert on period instrument replicas. Thursday October 27, 2016, from 14:00–18:00 in Fanny-Hensel-Saal, concert starting at 19:00 in Joseph-Haydn-Saal, Anton-von-Webern-Platz 1, 1030 Wien. On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Institute of Music Acoustics (Wiener Klangstil), we are inviting for the Third Vienna Talk on Music Acoustics and Performance Science 2015 under the theme "Bridging the Gaps". This symposium will start with a welcome party on September 16 and will prosumably end on September 19/20, 2015 (more details will follow soon).
European Researchers' Night
Am Freitag den 26. 9. 2014 präsentiert das IWK bei der "European Researchers' Night" das BATWOMAN-Projekt und weitere aktuelle Forschungsprojekte. Ort und Zeit: 17:00 - 24:00 in der alten Akademie der Wissenschaften, Wollzeile 27a, 1010 Wien. An unserem Stand gibt es für mitgebrachte Blechblas- und Streichinstrumente einen Gratis-Qualitäts-Check.
ISPS 2013
The Institute of Music Acoustics (Wiener Klangstil) hosted the International Symposium on Performance Science, which took place between August 28 and 31, 2013 at the downtown campus of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW) and will be under the motto "Performing Together". The conference co-chairs were Aaron Williamon (Royal College of Music, London) and Werner Goebl (MDW). 206 experts from 29 countries came to discuss a wide range of topics. The published proceedings volume has 855 pages and is available online here
Vienna Talk 2010
On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Institute of Music Acoustics (Wiener Klangstil), we invited for the Second Vienna Talk on Music Acoustics 2010 under the theme "Bridging the Gaps". Between September 19 and 21, 2010, almost 100 researchers and scholars from all parts of the world came to attend 57 presentations and 20 poster presentations. The conference proceedings are available online.
Vienna Talk 2005
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Institute of Music Acoustics (Wiener Klangstil), we organised the First Vienna Talk – 25 Years IWK under the theme "On The Future of Wind Instruments," which took place on the 27 and 28 August 2005.
