Easy-to-learn exercises while standing, sitting or lying down bring relaxation and calm. Stress, negative stage fright and exam nerves can be reduced and posture, breathing, technical skills and musical expression can be improved. Physical imbalances, such as back pain, immune deficiency, cold extremities and tendonitis, become noticeably more balanced. Qigong is about balancing yin and yang and the free flow of energy in the body.

The type of exercise is very varied: swinging and stretching exercises get the energy (the Qi) in the body moving.

Letting go exercises promote relaxation and help to release blockages.

The aim is to achieve good rootedness (when standing or sitting) according to the principle of “heavy at the bottom, light at the top”.

Exercise sequences, such as the “Baduan Jin” (also known as the 8 brocades), address different areas of the body, have an internal effect on the energy pathways (meridians) and have an invigorating, but also calming and centering effect.

The combination of movement, breathing and inner mindfulness allows our mind to calm down and gives us mental strength and balance.

An important basic principle is “the energy flows where the attention is” - we learn to perceive our body, trace movement sequences and consciously direct our “Qi”.

All of these levels strengthen our vitality, help us to reduce tension and center ourselves.
